Which is really strange to get my (bald) head around. I will be transported, hopefully without incident, to a place I’ve never been and only can imagine how different it will be from what I know.
We will be working with a church/school conducting a Vacation Bible School in the mornings, teaching ESL and doing some construction work.
There are 18 of us going and even in these last few meetings together we have really started to grow closer together as a group. We had a great time of prayer and (attempted) singing in Haitian Creole this past Monday night. I’m looking forward to being with these dear folks and seeing how we can represent Jesus in word and deed.
The passage that keeps going around my head for this trip is 2 Thess 1:11-12 –
“To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
(2 Thessalonians 1:11–12 ESV)
We would love for you to pray this verse with us and for us. Ultimately, it is about making God look great – because he is. It is us that needs to remember who we represent and align ourselves to who he has called us to be in Jesus. We don’t do good works to earn his favor, we do them because it’s what he did and we are his children. May we do all things by his power and for the greatness of his name!
I will do my best to post from my trusty iPhone, while I’m there! Stay tuned!
praying for a God glorifying trip.
